Jenny Hainsworth, Co-founder and Proprietor
Jenny Hainsworth is the co-founder, owner and operator of Egeria Orthodox Home and Hospitality Exchange. She is an artist, mommy to three daughters, and an advanced student of iconography, calligraphy and linguistics. She has strong interests in world cultures and languages, poetry, music, classical Byzantine chant (as taught by the Koukouzelis Institute), art and design history, philosophy, theology, Systema (Russian martial art) and, of course, travel! She is also host of the upcoming Ancient Faith Radio podcast, Inside the Iconographer's Studio. Her logo, lettering art and quill and pencil drawings are featured throughout the Egeria website. She and her family reside in Victoria, BC, Canada.
Fr John Hainsworth, Co-founder and Adviser
Fr John Hainsworth is the co-founder of Egeria Home Exchange and a designer and adviser for its website. He was ordained to the priesthood in 2002 by Archbishop Seraphim of Canada. A graduate cum laude of St Vladimir's Theological Seminary in Crestwood, New York, Fr John is parish priest of All Saints of Alaska parish in Victoria, Canada. Fr John has published numerous articles including The Ever-Virginity of the Mother of God (Conciliar) and Meletios of Sardis' Peri Pascha (St Vladimir's Quarterly) His interests include liturgics and liturgical poetry, English literature, Scripture, wilderness hiking, Systema and squash. He is an engaging and sought-after speaker at retreats and assemblies, and hosts the Ancient Faith Radio podcast Paradosis.
