Description

Nestled against the foothills of the Chugach range is this upstairs apartment above a family home. It has two small bedrooms, a 3/4 bath w/shower, kitchen and living area with cable television. The home is situated on a wooded lot in the Community of St. John Orthodox Cathedral where 85% of the parish lives in walking distance of the church. Enjoy walking thru the community, along wooded paths, and visit the splendid St. Sergius prayer chapel during your walk thru the “50 Acres”. See the view of Denali from the great lawn in front of the church and the St. James House. Anchorage is only 15 miles away, along with all of the “typical” Alaskan adventures.

About Us

Who We Are

We are a large family, originally with 13 children, we now have only 7 still at home, 6 of them are teens. We live downstairs, while the apartment is upstairs. It is a nice space, with its own bridge leading to the short wooded path to the church school, St. James House and the Cathedral of St. John.

Languages Spoken

English, Spanish

Interests, Hobbies

Church activities, playing guitar & singing music, hiking, cooking, films, traveling & meeting new people and hearing about their life in Orthodoxy, whether convert or cradle. We are interested in local events, learning about Orthodoxy in the world and evangelism; science and social issues.

Lifestyle, lifestyle

Casual. With teens at home there are often people coming and going. We do live on a well, so at times water is limited. We have a firepit in the yard and on occasion enjoy spending the evening around it talking, singing and telling stories. You are welcome to join us on these nights! We’ve been a homeschooling family for 21 years and encourage our children to travel as they can. Dad, Vic is a geopilot technician with an oilfield service company and has a background in aviation and sales. Mom, Anna-Paraskeva has worked in many fields, even while homeschooling. Berry picking in late summer is a favorite pastime.
